Bumpkin's yarn

This is Bumpkin's holding onto the yarn I have purchased for her in the last 2 years. She looks really good in the darker colors. My goal is to make something out of the Lullaby (must buy contrasting color), the chenille, and 2 sweaters out of the Bernat variegated (will need contrasting colors on that one too.) This year- before Christmas. A close up of what Bumpkin's is holding near and dear. Going around clock wise starting w/the 4 balls of Lullaby, is 3 balls of burgundy Peaches and Creme, one skein of dark purple thick and chunky chenille Lion Brand, 3 skeins/balls of purple cottontots Bernat, and finally 2 skeins of variegated
Bernat Softee.
I thought that I had taken a pic. of all Bumpkin's yarn that I had on hand. But discovered this and my 5 mm dpns in the corner of the cradle. ( we don't use it to sleep in anymore) This yarn is Lion's brand Jiffy mohair like.

Knitting: Yes a lot of my yarn looks like I have started something then frogged it. All because I didn't like the way that it was going. Well on the shawl note: have 10 rows left, but yesterday Bumpkins jumped on me and my knitting and well the circular needle didn't hold up. Yep it broke and dropped 25 stitches that were triple wrapped. So I had to put them back on a needle. Today is going to determine if all is lost or not.

Yesterday was a manic Monday. During training where we were practicing extrications I rolled 2 of my ribs. Very painful. Than I got home and decided to walk off into space. But instead of floating like space would I came crashing down hard onto a concrete floor. Skinned my knee and bruised up both shins, later I realized that I had hurt both wrists when I fell.
Today: off to work at 7:00 Bumpkins got up at 6 this is after she fell asleep at 10:30. And she is still down for her nap 1 1/2hrs. Hope she has an early bed tonight. I am kind of tired- taught lessons, actually today was an easy day. 2 different sets- tomorrow is 3 sets (tiny tots= or mommy and me class) My DD can't go to class w/me.

sunny day: yesterday was 72 today is warm again.

Finished Project

This is the finished sewing Project that I tried to post yesterday. Super easy but the material was slippery and very fuzzy. I just love the flannel- not sure what I want to use it for. It has been stash for almost 3 years. Time to use it.
This is yarn for my Hufflepuff shawl. I will be starting as soon as the Peach shawl is done.

Knitting: Did 3 more rows on peach shawl and 5 more on the blue scarf.

Ok Princess here are the shoes. Let me know how to get them to you.

Today was Sunday busy day. Church this AM Pastor Jon's last Sunday- tomorrow they leave for Indiana. Tonight church- strange, I had a thought during song worship and the thought was How do I know when God calls. Then the sermon was on exactly that. Still not sure what to do when he calls me to do something.

Beautiful sunny day.

Rainy Saturday

Knitting: did 2 rows on the peach shawl. My goal today is 4.
As far as goal (to do list) I am doing good. Tried to upload a pic but since it is raining we don't have a good connection (satellite). Of my goals I did 2 of the 4 loads of laundry, didn't get one bathroom cleaned. But did go grocery shopping for the week and finished an ufo. That is the pic. I wanted. Oh well, maybe it will be sunny tomorrow.
Yes we use satellite for our internet, it is usually faster than dial up. The only times when we have real trouble w/it is when it is foggy, rainy, snowy, and we are experiencing solar flares. The bonus to solar flares is the Northern lights are beautiful. (COLD) We can't get dsl in our area, to old, and it would cost alot of money to redo cables.
Blogger is not being my friend tonight. Maybe it is the slow connection but wouldn't let me add more side links, or change my web page layout. I discovered that if I use green for a font then my links don't show up. So when I tried to change my link color I couldn't save (no save option available). Oh well next time.
Dinner tonight was marinated Pork Chops (teriaky and soy sauce w/liquid smoke) baked beans, mixed veggies. Dessert Rhubarb cake (with last year's rhubarb). Bumpkins ate almost all of one pork chop.
Mostly rainy but warm. Put my baskets out to catch the rain (sure beats watering)

Dandylions are going to seed

Here is the peach shawl. I have 16 rows left to finish and it will be done. Hope to get it done this weekend.

Here are the elf slippers. One pair done another still needs work.

Blogger is being stupid. I wrote a lot than it got deleted. So to remember what I was typing.
No swimming tonight as Bumpkins was to tired (no nap). She didn't sleep well last night either. I was up at 1:00 making cream of wheat, she slept well after that.
Work was not as bad as anticipated. Busy- but not more than 35 in the water at one time. I have training on Mondays for the next 3 weeks (usually don't work on Mondays.)
People were mowing their lawns as I went to work today. Introduced Bumpkins to Dandelions going to seed. She liked the first one and then got scared of them. So cute.

Does anyone know how to post buttons on the sidebar, also how to post progress reports like Karen does, and finally how to link a pic w/in your blog. I can't find any examples right now.

Another nice warm cloudy day. Doing laundry tonight.

Snowbirds are returning

Knitting: I figured out what I was doing wrong and now have 1 elf slipper almost done. Need to re-read the directions as DH has been hogging the comp lately. Forgot where I was on the peach shawl and did an extra row. Did another set on the blue scarf, it is now 1/3 done. Allright now is the time to disclose yarn shopping. Did go to Joannes yesterday and bought 4 skeins of yarn to make my Hufflepuff shawl. Also got embroidery and tapestry needles. Forgot the pattern- oh well. I did buy some cute pink and butterfly material for Bumpkins. Had to confiscate it after she fell asleep otherwise she would have taken it to daycare today as a blanket. Been thinking about other non-knitting projects that I need to get done. (even before reading Ami's blog).
Here are my summer non-knitting goals:
  1. keep plants watered and weeded
  2. harvest rhubarb and currants and strawberries
  3. conquer garden
  4. work on counted cross stitch cross
  5. finish Bumpkins doll quilt
  6. June's goal- find quilt material for mom's wall hanging
  7. July cut and sew mom's wall hanging
  8. August quilt and enter into fair said wall hanging
  9. make a scrap quilt for July
  10. find blue wool for DH's scarf
  11. Finish one unfinished sewing project a week.
  12. Sew some clothes up for Bumpkins
  13. POP my bubble on what I want to do vs. what I can actually achieve.
So that about sums up what I have unrealistically set myself up for. Besides regular chores of cooking, cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, recreation and taking care of family.

Bumpkins sleep is all over the place again. She went down tonight around 730 pm. early- what is a mom to do when child sleeps that early? Ahhh finally I can blog and knit. I am so anxious to finish this shawl- I am so borrreeeddd with it. But refuse to pull it off the needles or even buy another needle. So onward I go. I can't sew because, Bumpkins will wake up.
Tomorrow starts summer break out at the pool, slide and all. My summer hours aren't all that great. Tuesday through Thursday 7:30 -12:30 and Fridays 12-5, I hate open swim. The kids don't listen, we are a drop off babysitting place. And I am quite sure OSHA noise levels are exceeded. Oh well, I better work on swim lesson plans tomorrow and it looks like it is take Bumpkins to work later tomorrow night.
Tuesday there was a lady that winters in Kentucky at the pool. She said that she has a small farm in Kentucky. Ok in my book 30 acres isn't small, what I would do w/that much acreage. Horses, sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens, fruits and veggies galore. Tomatoes grown outside, corn, beans, eggplant, peppers, real apples, plums, grapes (wine) peaches, pears the list could get very long. But the summers would kill me- way to HOT!!! Hmmm... commuting wouldn't be to bad, trailer the animals, have someone caretake the garden. Oh well my life is wonderful here. The hooligan are running, salmon not far behind. Lynx in my backyard, Eagles overhead everyday, very few neighbors. No tornado's. Need a passport to drive out of state. Ahh.. the good life.
Am reading a very good book, (wish I had started it sooner as I have to return it on Monday) Mothering your Nursing Toddler. It explains so much, right down to her tooth decay and super independence and I am only on page 48, 240 more pages to go.
Brats, baked beans and salsa salad for dinner again tonight. Gotta get off of this brawt kick as I am putting weight on. Hot dog buns were $.25 for 8 great deal. Darn I was at the store and forgot pilot bread for work. I want some kind of bread that won't go bad to fast. And well pilot bread it is did get marmalade though.. yumm.

Rainy and cloudy warm (60's) kind of day. Leaves are out on the apple tree- no blossoms yet. The currant bush looks like the moose hit it really hard over the winter will see how that recovers. Rhubarb needs to be picked- I forgot jell-o to make jelly, guess I forgot sugar too. So much for shopping w/o a list.

May showers

Knitting: None done today, yesterday lots. I am very close to finishing the Sarah Blanche Shawl just 1 1/2 sets to go. Did a couple of sets on the Sarah Blanche Scarf yesterday and will wonders never cease I discovered what I was doing wrong w/the elf slippers. Now I need to go to Jo-Annes and get several new tapestry/darning needles. I lost mine somewhere, on the floor and I don't have a clue as to where. The cat is probably playing hockey w/it.
Jo-annes shopping list
  1. more yarn- yellow eyelash and black acrylic, some other yellow and black would be nice too.
  2. Embroidery needles
  3. dress pattern
  4. I bet I missed the big Memorial Day sale. Bummer.
In other news.... Bumpkins is back in our bed. Planted seeds at 11:00 pm last night- it was still light out. Woo hoo. Bumpkins got up at 7:30 this am and stayed up. I was super tired, she didn't get to sleep until 10:30 last night, so I was up late doing stuff. Was Supervisor tonight- that was fun-but made for a long day (9 hr shift). I am so glad that I had a great crew to work with, one could have showed a lot more initiative though. That is teens for you.

It is still light out (11:30) and I am tired am comes early around here. Though not as early as next week.

Memorial Sunday

Knitting: I made and frogged 2 swatches last night. Will re-do one to determine proper gauge. Sewed together and ripped out elf slippers, I am either not seeing how they go together our the pattern is just not explaining it right. Bumpkins is so cute, she will go and find her yarn and needles so she can knit too. It keeps her out of mine. I knit 4 rows on my Sarah Blanche shawl- I now know why I don't do afghans. I am bored w/this and want it done. Possibly after this set I will finish even though the original pattern calls for 8 sets not 3.

Great Athena keeps walking all over the keyboard and erasing what I have typed and moving the cursor.
This morning we went to church (don't remember what the sermon was about, but Bumpkins did very well). Potluck and we brought Mac and cheese, so did someone else though. Ours was better cause it was kraft. Bumpkins played outside tonight as I planted seeds. My sunflowers, some clarkia, and marigolds are done. Soaking are canary bird vine, nastis, morning glory, sweet pea. I should have some interesting pots this year. And I have 2 more containers than last year. I weeded out 1/2 a flower bed. Chives are a weed. Bumpkins chased the dog around trying to force the dog to eat and drink. Poor dog- she couldn't run away. We have tied her behind up for the summer- no more free running until it drops to 0. I am tired of her not coming when called, bringing home trash, rolling in fish guts, and harassing the people walking on the road. That is the dog. I call her Girl- because one of the teens named her Spaz. Hmmm.. I wonder how Missy would work. Mom got to Kazul's safely and I think w/luggage. Will wonders never cease.
Dinner tonight Bratwursts, corn on cob and baked beans. Dessert papaya enzymes. Well I am off to bed, have to start getting up early. More weaning in store for us all.

Memorable Saturday

Knitting: CO and frogged a tank top for Bumpkins. I had wrong chenille and wrong needles. The chenille that I have is thick and chunky not cotton (big difference). Will find something fun to knit tonight, probably something from my summer to do list. I have a new friend in cyber space, it was so cool to have someone read this.

What made today so wonderful? Well last night Bumpkins slept in her crib all night!!! She did wake up around 4, but did go back to sleep after rocking. When she woke up at 7, I brought her into our bed and around 9 she woke up wet. She must have been sleeping really hard. We then went out to Grouchy Old Woman's B&B to help Trish get ready for some guests. Bumpkins did great. We then went to visit mum before she left, helped clean up there as well. Then it was a scramble to find a sitter, found one and then DH and I went to the movie Pirates 3. It was a very good movie- can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Bumpkins didn't get to eat very well today- so it will be a long night for us. I will boost my calorie intake right now to make up for her loss. DH got a new guitar today (he sold some music equipment to buy this.) Oh well maybe it is a self sustaining hobby- unlike knitting or sewing.

Weather today was in the 60's and nice. I better go water plants and soak seeds then I go knit now.

Graduation tonight was fun. I didn't spend much family time today. But I sat w/ Mrs. Kendall, Ms. Shields, Ms. Lehl and said the names of the kids as they walked by. The class was very small- 20 are missing due to graduating at other schools, dropouts, and possible next year graduates. I saw a friend of mine that I haven't seen for almost 5 yrs. Hopefully we can stay in touch now.

Closed the pool at 6 tonight, I helped a lot w/cleaning so not much was needed to be done. Joey recommended that I go in and get checked out since I am still experiencing dizziness. DH thinks that I just don't eat right and that is causing my dizziness.

Well I am off to bed to sleep. Today got very nice out- I wish that I could have enjoyed the outdoors more. Tomorrow I shall.

Blogged 2 days in a row!

Knitting: Nothing today. Did put Blue Prayer Scarf in van today- so now have some portable knitting. Surfed across this site today. Skeins her way is having a summer contest- could be a lot of fun.
So what are my summer knitting Goals?
  1. Finish Sarah Blanche Prayer Shawl - Peach 1/2 way done
  2. Finish Sarah Blanche Prayer Scarf- Blue 1/3 done
  3. Legwarmers/pants- not cast on (making pattern up as I go)
  4. shawl/ shrug/ wrap- for me not cast on (Have to find pattern again)
  5. Skirt - in Lullaby
  6. Tank top - in Lullaby to match skirt (must go yarn shopping!!)
  7. Some kind of tote bag using denim strips
  8. Finish elf slippers - just need seams
  9. And for stash busting yarn using my yellow and black for something not sure what. Just might combine 4 w/9. Gotta go shopping!!!
  10. DH's blue wool scarf for Christmas need pattern and wool. Yeah more surfing and shopping!!
Enough of the knitting, Fred pulled out a white not gray hair out of my head today. I refuse to go white yet. It was coarser and thicker then the rest of my hair, not to mention it really hurt. Kenai had graduation tonight- tomorrow is Nikiski. Today was the last day of school and rainy. DH and I were by ourselves tonight (besides bumpkins). Planted Black eyed susan vine seeds today while Bumpkins played in the puddles. Came inside after she sat down in the dirt/mud. Had pizza for dinner- bumpkins requested it. Actually it sounded more like Peaches, her point was made when she tried to pull the frozen pizzas out of the freezer. I would have preferred a better quality pizza (safeway frozen pizzas are gross.) Well gotta' go eat something and do laundry.

Another week is gone

Knitting: these are the Dumbledore socks that I gave mum for Mother's Day. It took forever to finish one and then forever to post both of them. They are done on 5 dpn w/acrylic remnants. 7 different colors. The red is done in ribbing, followed by white spiral, blue denim is drop stitch, 2 eyelash rows, 1 light blue garter, denim variegated, finally gray. The toes are kichnered. The socks don't match (one is bigger then the other). Mum likes them and is wearing them as house socks. I have finished all the squares for the elf slippers (the squares aren't square either). I keep casting on and frogging leg warmers for Bumpkins- I decided to make leg warmers. She goes to daycare and at 9 it is still kind of chilly out, this way she can wear shorts/ dresses and as the day gets warmer take the legs off.

The swallows are back, my plants aren't potted or started. Setting out is next weekend. I am still working long hours at the pool. Last week I did 29.5 and this week already 12.5, and 15 more to go. I am having a lot of nightmares again- must be job related. When I wasn't working I didn't have as many nightmares now some nights I have 3. I didn't sleep good last night- no night mares that I can recall. Just saw a lot of numbers on the clock. 12, 1, 4 and 5 finally got up around 5:30.

Well off to sleep as I am falling asleep typing this.

where do the days go?

Knitting? nothing today. Did get a pic. of the Dumbledore socks- will post that one sometime. Am on the last 1/2 of the elf slippers. Not sure what to make next. Almost bored w/knitting. Guess I need an easy project or another pair of socks.
Work is going well. I am supposed to only be working 20 hrs. but today I did 10 1/2. Two big school groups. Bumpkins was still up when I got home at 11.
Thing two was in jail last night, Princess is having car troubles- when she got her tires swapped last fall a lug nut was broken. So now she has to get that fixed and a brake job. Horses and bikes are so much easier.
Mother's day was nice. We went to Brunch at the Senior Center then hung out at home. I made pork chops, corn on the cob, potato salad, green salad and key lime bars. Nana came over. We watched riding in the car w/boys (sad movie) and 5 people who you meet in Heaven (very good).
Dandelions are blooming and tonight was 50 degrees when I got home. Great night to go camping. But back to the rat race tomorrow.

mid week catch up

Knitting- still working on the house elf slippers. Am starting the last square- but when I measured the other finished squares. I discovered that they weren't true squares, I missed about 3 rows. hope that it does work out.

Monday night went to a La Leche meeting. Very interesting- several people are still nursing their 2 yr. olds.

I am going to be trained to do some Supervisory duties. Mixed feelings on that one.
Bumpkin went to daycare yesterday- rough time adjusting back. She was up until after 11.
The leaves on the trees are starting to pop out- almost planting time. Well I had better go water plants.

May is here and DH has temp. work

I am a bad blogger.
Knitting going well... have 1 1/2 squares left to do on the elf slippers. Then I can make them in my size. Still haven't gotten the colors for the hat and shawl. Thought that I could go stash busting at my mom's no such luck as of yet.

Weather has been so warm.. I went bike riding a couple of days ago. Very sore bum- may go again tomorrow. Also still need to plant seeds.
Did an awful lot of cleaning today. Tomorrow is a day for me- knitting, riding, sewing, planting/ pruning and swimming. Knitting at 10 until about 1130. Get home and go riding. After nap yard work- swimming at 6. Hmmm.... maybe we will go shopping at my mom's tomorrow after swimming.
I have been working a lot of hours at the pool, so tired. And Bumpkins wont' go down until almost 11. I need to turn her sleep cycle around, this week up at 8 for both of us. She goes to daycare next week- DH has temp work. A lot falls down to me again. Laundry, supper, grocery shopping and cleaning.
Tomorrow breakfast- eggs, sausage, sweet rolls, oranges and orange juice. gotta go find a good sweet roll recipe.

65 degrees in April

Yep the topic heading says it all. Yesterday was 65 degrees, today was 50 when I got to work at noon.

Knitting news- finished one square for elf slippers and am working on the second one. Knitting it continental very loose. Put prayer scarf back on needles- need someone to look at it to make sure it is ok. Am writing a pattern for leggings for bumpkins. Might need to make those in 3 as this might be a warm summer. I really don't like the way some of my fun fur smells.

I have been very busy at work again. Next week will be my last water aerobics, this week was my last set of lessons until June. Then I will be doing 4 sets of 4- lots of high calorie, low fat food needed. Today at work it was very slow- so we did some training. What is it w/me needing to be rescued? Ok so I was at the bottom of the deep end for longer than usual. Joey and Fred were ready to jump in to save me.

DH and I took Bumpkins out to the pool to go swimming. She loved it again went down the slide. Great fun. We went to Homer on Sat. great outing. Bumpkins didn't like the waves they were scary. But did enjoy picking up seashells. Odd thing, there was alot of coal washed up on the Spit. Climate is getting warmer. Fido dug up my flower bed- I wasn't very happy. Luckily I hadn't gotten around to planting seeds yet. Uh oh- mom's day is coming we have to get her present started. Bumpkins is going to plant Marigolds in an OJ container. Tomorrow night is Nikiski's High Prom. Princess is driving down and is going. I have to clean up that room tomorrow. And go to work tomorrow night. Maybe I will find the missing library book. It is probably w/my missing knitting mag.
I haven't blogged lately because DH keeps stealing this comp. and water got into the internet cable and shorted out.

Good night and off to Knitting the elf slipper.

No knitting done today

Knitting is going well. Have cast one and knitted aprox. 10 rows for hufflepuff houseslippers, they will be warm and cozy. I really like the pattern. Am contemplating joining another knit along, just for me, the theme is shawls. I really would like to make the What's it, for 2 reasons one I like the pattern, and 2 it would be nice to wear to the Harry Potter book release. I found a cute tam pattern to go w/it.

On the home front. DH had an interview today, it went quite well. Prayers for this to be the right job for him. Thing one and Thing two are hanging out at home. I did an oops today, misread the work schedule and left an hour early. That wouldn't happen if my schedule didn't change every bloody day. At least I made in to work on time- scheduled for an hour earlier than usual. Swam 10 laps today- sad thing is they don't count toward my 1/2 mile that I need to swim for work. And it was work related- had 5 swim lesson kids swim the length today. Yeah!!!! That doesn't usually happen w/beginner swimmers. Then went down the slide several times and stairs to go up- oh my gosh. Hmmm.... the walk, swim, bike count down would be a good one for me. This am I weighed 112 lbs. on our scale- so that means about 115 lbs. I have to stop losing weight- I want to gain muscle. Maybe I am gaining muscle as Nigel had to do a rescue on me in the deep end of the pool yesterday. I was reaching up to undo a life jacket, and was sinking. Next thing I know I was being helped up to surface of the water. Strange.

Snow is almost all gone, as are the mud puddles. Bugger it my seeds aren't' started yet. Maybe tomorrow night. No school tomorrow.
Well off to bed.

Where did April go?

What have I been knitting? The sock for my mom- otherwise known as Dumbledore's socks. I finished one on Saturday at knitting group. I now have a vague idea on how to kichner. CO the second one Saturday the 14, started the heel flap only to discover halfway through that I forgot to slip a stitch every row unknitted the whole flap. Then switched over to the serger. Sergered a shirt for Bumpkins, all that is left is to hem the bottom, sleeves and neck. Should go easy- am debating on whether to knit her a matching skirt or just knit some leggings. I have some really wild yarn. Am thinking about making Hufflepuff house slippers, and a bobaton beret w/shawl.

DH was gone all weekend at a retreat, I did nothing. Just knitted and played w/Bumpkins. Took Bumpkins out swimming on Friday- she loved it. Then went to Mom's, got a bunch of new knitting needles. I am so excited can't wait to try them out.

Lots of hours at the pool and not much else. It is late time for bed.

I do believe that the robin's are back. We had a very fast breakup this year. I can plant sweet peas tomorrow if I find me seeds.

Beautiful Spring day

Knitting today was another row in the peach prayer shawl, 3 more rows and I am halfway done. Yeah. This weekend was busy for knitting. Saturday found me knitting at my knit group at the library then Saturday night I was knitting while waiting for the dance concert to start. I also knitted before and during intermission. Then during the last few dance numbers- remembering what the yarn harlot said about metal needles and concrete floors. I didn't drop a needle, made up extra stitches though. I am now down to the toes that will get done this week.

Princess came home for Easter, that was fun. We ate breakfast at church, went to church and then home. Dinner was on the table at 2. I am proud of myself- very well planned out. Ham, baked potatoes, green salad, jello salad (made w/juice because Bumpkins is allergic to red dye) egg braid, brussel sprouts, green bean casserole and rolls. Lava cakes and ice cream for dessert.

The dance concert was excellent well worth the money. Bumpkins had an allergic reaction last night. Go figure- she was eating candy covered in red dye. (Peeps and jelly beans.)

Last night lots of melting, we had a lake in our drive yesterday. Today it was almost gone. I let Bumpkins play in the slush, puddles and mud 2x's today. She had a lot of fun. Got a new fish today- the other gold fish finally died last Friday.

Well off to bed, long day tomorrow. No cleaning done today- just loads and loads of laundry. DH did taxes.

April showers

I finished this hat March 25. Fast knit- I did it in about a week. With work. This week I have been knitting on my mom's sock and last week I got several more rows done on the peach prayer shawl.

This hat is a north country hat knit w/10.5 cn and chunky yarn. I don't really like the camo colors, but it does fit me and will work when I go skiing or biking. I submitted this hat as a Ron Weasley hat for the Harry Potter knit-along. Ron wears this style of hat in Prisoner of Azkaban movie. Now to get started on the next item. This hat takes care of many things- a hat for me, HP knit along and if I had joined the green hat along. But the sad thing is I now have a smallish ball of yarn for stash. Just when I am trying to get rid of stash yarn. I am very glad that I have forgotten my ebay login name and password. There is so much cheap yarn and needles there. Yikes.

Ok Now on to what have I been doing for the last few weeks. Obviously not checking my emails, am very afraid of what I will find in yahoo. I was sick w/the flu earlier this week and last week. Bumpkins had it and now DH has it. I am working very long hours, my 20 hr. job is bringing in almost 600 dollars every 2 weeks. So that means 28 hour weeks- next week will be over 30. That is working only 4 days also. Tuesday will be over 10, half of that time will be spent teaching lessons and water aerobics. (and the cow god wonders why I am not hyper.)

Easter is Sunday, I have my eggs boiled and dinner planned. Flylady would be proud. Tomorrow I will do a HB and go to knitting. Laundry is calling to me as well- but I can throw in a load tonight and dry it tomorrow. It feels good to just sit w/my feet up. So very relaxing.

Spring is well on its way- nice cloudy days, today was windy. The birds are mating and temps in the 40's.

Ides of March

What have I knit this last week? My hat- I was waiting to post after I took a pic. oh well. Too long between posts. Am still working on the sock and peach shawl. Found a Christmas project for my secret sister, I need embroidery needles and my hoop. That one should go fast.

Had mom over for dinner last Monday as it was her b-day. We gave her bamboo chimes and she ate fried mushrooms and onions on a Hamburger. Was so good.

Well I am off to knitting will post more later.

The weather has been warm, serious melting. So much better than the cold we had a the start of this month.

Nice day off

I have been knitting like crazy this week. Am almost done with North Country Hat.
I am hung up on the last little bit of bo 6 st. then knit 12 place on st. holder than bo 20. How do you bo when your bo st. is on a holder? Oh well tomorrow is knitting at the library can bring that and the sock in. Princess said that the sock was hideous. Oh well it isn't for her. Bought Bumpkins needles and yarn today, we will see if she knits. Even if it keeps her out of my knitting it isn't a waste. Bought her a shirt pattern and blanket makings too. Think tomorrow is a sewing day. I forgot cording to fix my skirt. I think I will make a Joanne's list of things that I really need. That way next month I will be better prepared.

Today we went to open gym had a great time. Went shopping Bumpkin's had a meltdown- tried to get her out of the store. Nana was upset w/her for acting 2. That woman stresses me out- sometimes. Nana watched Bumpkins while DH and I went out. Had prime rib at Louie's- very good. Went to Veronica's to listen to music but Princess's dad was there so we left. Went to Kaladi Bros. instead- wish I had taken my knitting w/me. When I mentioned that to Nana, she became very upset and informed me that you don't take your knitting to places like that as it is inconsiderate. My thoughts are I am reading the newspaper and drinking tea, what is the difference between knitting and drinking tea? Knitting I am paying more attention. So now I need another portable project.;

Another nice sunny melting day. Tomorrow I need to clean out the cat box, wash laundry and bring in my soil to thaw. Almost seed planting time. Yeah

Spring is Here!!! Crows are nesting

Finally the weather seems to have broke. Yesterday and today blizzardy, but so much better than the -15 we have been waking up to for the last few weeks. And the crows are building nests.

Knitting: I am stuck on the heel for the sock. I have finished the heel flap and now to turn the thing. Will wait for Saturday for that. In the meantime I have cast on a hat (can't access the link right now.) using 10.5 needles and chunky wool/acrylic. I am so hoping that Bumpkins doesn't get another hat. I got this yarn for me.

Family updates: spring break here. Princess came home Friday and went back Sat. Then drove herself down on Monday and went back Tuesday night. (Blizzard warnings and stay off the road warnings.) We had a nice visit- it is always good to have her home. Bumpkins went nuts- Sissy, Sissy, Sissy. Monday night Thing One came over to visit w/sisters also. He stayed for dinner. DH went to band- missed out on the family being together. Later I went to Safeway- car overheated and we were stranded. Of course I had both girls w/me at 8:30 at night. DH didn't have his cell on him so I had to track him down. Tuesday more band practice. My work schedule this week is all over the place. Monday 9-12 then back out to the pool from 3-5. Then home for the night. Tuesday work 7-1, then formal dress shopping w/Princess (you should see the dress, can you say Lady in Red?) Wednesday and Thursday work 7-4, I really don't like those long hours. Spring break at the pool is insane. Yesterday we went to 2 guards at 1045 and stayed that way, we only had 2 guards in the bldg. There where 400 people in the water on Tuesday. That is alot of people. Today wasn't' that bad- 3 guards and I got to dispatch for a little bit. That was relaxing.
Well off to bed 530 is awfully early.

Bumpkins is better

Knitting news first: I am on the foot of the Dobby socks. I had to put them on hold for a few days as I didn't like the join and then lost a needle. I found the needle in the chair and I knit like crazy at bible study tonight. And yes I did pay attention- the topic was bitterness and unforgiveness Ephesians.

Bumpkins has been so sick- she had ear infections in both ears. She was coughing so hard that she would throw up the meds. We quarantined her at home for almost a week. That was hard juggling my work schedule and DH's, we basically wrote our own hours. She has been so clingy to me. Most of the small children that are Bumpkins daycare have RSV. I guess that it is running rampant throughout our state. So maybe it is a good thing that Bumpkins stays home w/DH every day now.

DH told Thing One that he could have a bed from our house. Not sure if that is a good precedent to set. On the other hand I told Princess that I would pay for her gas to come down here for Spring break next week. The up side of me paying her way is she has to stay with me and visit with me.

Well off to bed after I feed the cat.
Temps are cold. I am sick and tired of the bloody cold. minus temps w/wind chill and clear. Where is the warmth? The sun lacks heat.

End of traumatic week

The week is over.
Knitting: where am I? As for both of the prayer shawls- tabled. The socks for Hufflepuff- frogged yarn will become a hat. So I started a house elf sock- only problem is the ribbing fits around Bumpkins thigh. So onto an experimental pair of leg warmers. (dress up clothes if anything.)

Bumpkins has been so sick this last week. Took her in on Wednesday- and was told that she has ear infections in both ears. On top of a horrible cold- she coughs so hard that she throws up. She hasn't been able to keep her meds down- tonight she did. While trying to keep up w/her medications I am forgetting to take my own. I have a sinus infection- doesn't help that I have to continue to swim.
My work week has been so messed up. Now I have to make up lessons on a Monday of Spring break. That is going to bad. DH's last day of work was today, I am kind of stressing about money as my check is the only one coming in. Thing Two is suspended for 10 days- he won't be gong back for 3 weeks. What a vacation. To bad we aren't on the continent- road trip. Here a road trip is out of the question. It takes two days just to get out of the state and we don't have passports for everyone. More repercussions of 9/11.

Recipe: ButterBeer- butterscotch schnapps w/cream soda, very sweet, but smooth and yummy.

Tuesday

I didn't realize that I haven't posted anything for a few days. I have been busy.
Friday after work, Bumpkins and I stayed home vacuumed, and just hung out. It was nice. Saturday I did go to my knitting group. That was fun- Lou showed me how to join in a round again. Then Saturday night DH and I went out to celebrate our anniversary. We saw Beauty and the Beast production. It was very nicely done. Had no clue where Nana was until the second act. DH found her immediately, I never can find her. Bumpkins went to a friends house. She had fun. Stayed home on Sunday, didn't go to church. I frogged the sock I was making and restarted w/other colors.
Monday did errands early as Bumpkins got up at 6 and stayed up. She took her nap around 3. Long day for her. I went to the dentist as I had a tooth that was extremely painful. After a full panel of x-rays it is determined that I have a sinus infection. My sinuses sit on top of the roots of my teeth. My face is way to small for everything that goes in it. Did some knitting there at the dentists. I really like knitting in the round it is so much fun.
That brings us to today. A long day. Bumpkins is sick- she is teething so lots of saliva, mucus and it is running down her throat. So now she is congested and coughing to the point of throwing up. She has to go to daycare as I have to work and DH quits this Friday. I spent two very long and cold hours in the pool teaching lessons. Tomorrow I must bring more food. I am trying to make all calories count. So not alot I can eat there. High protein and low carb. But I still need the carbs for fuel. As I was so cold- It took me almost two hrs. to warm up my core temp. soup- filling hot and low carb. and a sandwich to go w/it.

Almost Friday

What a busy day. No knitting or anything else fun.

Today Bumpkins got up at 715 way to early for me. I cleaned the upstairs bathroom looks and smells good. Swept and mopped. Did dishes and planned dinner. Princess called and said she wanted her mother. That was so sweet. Bumpkins was like later mom when she went to daycare, yesterday I had to peel her off of me. What a difference.

Work was rough tonight- I really don't like these 9 hr. days but we need the money. I did some bad judgement calls. Water Aerobics was good for me.

temp 14 and clear skies (almost a full moon- do you know where your seeds are?) but very windy. Today 40 percent humidity- it is super dry
Well good night all

Princess is 18

Happy birthday to Princess. I can't believe it was 18 yrs. ago that I was holding a brand new baby girl. Her is all growed up now. Sniffle sniffle sob sob. My baby is gone. i sent her a box, thankfully she had a knife to open it with, lots of packaging tape. Thing one went to Anchorage and spent some time w/ Princess.

DH and I are married 3 yrs today. What an amazing 3 yrs. we are hoping that life settles down a bit. But doubt that that will happen.

Thing two didn't go to school today. Athena is walking on the comp again. She feels neglected.

Work today was boring pool shut down again. So today I cleaned the laundry room, 4 loads of towels and guard clothes. That is excessive. The only people that should have wet towels is Nigel, myself and any guards that go swimming. And right now there are no lessons and pro-active guards are dry guards. I also scrubbed the spectator chairs they were disgusting. Hopefully tomorrow we have blue water not green.

My hufflepuff socks are very slow going, I keep frogging. Maybe I will get someone else to cast on and join in the round, I can do the rest. Hmmm... actually just join.

Temps are still cold, only 5 above this am. tonight supposed to get -20 with wind chills.

Tuesday work day

What a day. Errands, laundry and work. Did get 3 loads done this am. should fold and dry tonight. I am to tired to even knit now. And even way to tired to watch Sorceror's Stone.
Long work day. The pool was closed when I got to work. Yeehaw. It stayed closed for 2 1/2 hrs. I was able to put together my lesson plan for water aerobics. It went very well. No deep end work though. Super closed the deep end due to low visibility and wouldn't open it up for aerobics. So what if we can't see the bottom. For some unknown reason chlorine and iron make green. I don't know chemistry.
Bought bread at the bread store today. Was able to give Sharon lunch- she had pb and j w/o bread. Her sandwich made me gassy all day.
So sad Bumpkins went to bed w/a regular milk bottle tonight. She was already asleep when I got home around 945. I miss putting her to bed.
The Harry Potter book on tape is bad- I have to read it. Someone messed up the tape. Well off to fold laundry and then bed.

Bumpkins turns 2

Sorry Kazul, Heavy on the pics.
This party was almost cancelled because it was -15 Sat. am. Way to cold for this time of year. But we went and had a great time. The pool was crowded, 3 guards on deck. There were at least 3 bday parties, and people were being turned away. I was so glad that I wasn't working, Hmm... that is why I don't do weekends. (except prom)
Bumpkins was so tired, she didn't even move when I put her to bed. She slept hard. DH will have to take her swimming more often, and especially to swim lessons. She has no fear of the water, I didn't even show her where the diving board was. The imp would have made a run for that thing for sure.

Bumpkins, DH, Megan and Jacob under the mushroom. Bumpkins loved it but Jacob hated it.

DH and Bumpkins under the mushroom.

kind of dark, but Bumpkins and I are waiting to go down the slide.

Bumpkins and I going down the slide. We were going so fast, I almost dropped her when we got to the bottom.

Juice boxes are so yummy.

Bumpkins, Jacob and Jon opening presents.

I figured this thing out. With pics. you post your blog backwards. Also I can knit as pics are being downloaded. Just remember don't delete anything- you will have to start all over.

Still is very cold, I hate this stuff

No knitting again today, am more willing to sleep instead of doing chores and knitting. Not that knitting is a chore, it is so very relaxing. But this week has been hard and exhausting. Next week won't be so bad as I have already done my first week. So maybe I will be able to incorporate more knitting into my days.

Bumpkins is adjusting finally. A sleep deprived tot is no fun- they don't know how to shut down when they are over stimulated. Thank God for teething tablets and pedia-care. She does have a cold- it happens whenever we take her outside to play. Maybe she just needs to go outside more, then she will build her immune system up.

Princess is leaving for Salem, Or, tonight. Hope that she has a good flight. She is so cute, Bumpkins was hitting me and yelling. Princess told me to put Bumpkins on the phone and then proceeded to scold Bumpkins and told her to be nice. Bumpkins stopped, but the cute part is that Princess will yell at me and sometimes not be nice. But Princess will not tolerate that behavior from her sis. So obviously Princess knows better- I feel like I did do something right. Yeah mom.

I had a couple of strange compliments this week. One was re: nursing Bumpkins, I was told that I was hard core. I guess that I am, but these kids grow up way to fast. I am not ready to totally lose my snuggle time w/her. The second was at work. We were at 2 guards and wanted to drop down to one, I said that we needed the supervisor to ok the decision first. To that I was told that I was old school. Yep and that old school stuff works.

It was bloody cold-15 below next to the house at 8 this am. Come on, it is the end of Feb. it is time to warm up. I shouldn't enjoy going to work, because it is warm there and I am supposed to wear shorts, tank top and flip flops. Even my house is cold. Low humidity. No wonder I am thinking of knitting sweaters.

New job Midweek

No pics. tonight. I am way to tired. No knitting for the last couple of days either. I do have needles and yarn in the van now. Have to keep track of my stuff- I can't leave my things in the van and use as needed. I share the van w/everyone. Pain in the neck.

This new job is rough on all of us. Bumpkins is not taking naps, which she needs. She stayed up until 1130 last night and got up at 845 this am. She isn't nursing as much anymore either. I write that as she is attached to me for the 3rd time since we got home at nine. I bet she nurses all night tonight. Separation trauma more than needing the nourishment. She is taking a bottle really good now. Avent don't leak as bad as the others.

Worked 9 hrs. yesterday and 6 today. Tomorrow is another 9 hr day, by the time i get home it will be almost 11 hrs that I am gone. On tape 5 of Sorcerer's Stone. I think knitting Weasley sweaters is going to be easy. Only thing said so far is that the sweater's are hand knit and warm and that non-family members get better quality. So any easy knit sweater is in, as Mrs. Weasley knits one per family member and there are 7 kids. Charlie, Bill, Percy, Fred, George, Ron, and Ginny that averages out to one a month. So not alot of shaping so simple and fast.

Temps in the below 0 at night and into the teens in the day. Starry skies and crescent moon. Bumpkins points out the moon as she goes to bed. She also says drive safe.

Some pics of Bumpkins

All right here are some pics. if you haven't seen any for awhile. Bumpkins in the bedroom trying on clothes is from November. She was so proud of herself, just realized that little outfit doesn't fit her anymore. Also our room doesn't look like that anymore. THANK YOU FLYLADY!!!

A new conversation with her regarding releasing gas:
Bumpkins "POOP"
Mommy "Do you have to poop?"
Bumpkins "No frog"
Bumpkins "Ribbit"
And then she jumps across the room.

No knitting today. And temps this am were cold 0 degrees at 10:30 this am. BRRR

This other pic. is from January. Bumpkins is eating chocolate ice cream w/o any Happy Birthday (that is what she calls cake.)

I best be getting off to bed very long day tomorrow and I have only expressed 3 oz. of milk. My daughter is either going to starve or get weaned. She wouldn't go to sleep earlier today. Maybe that is from the donuts w/red dye.

Sunny Sunday

Here lets see if this works. This is the dog that the eagle went for last month. Bumpkins is riding the dog like it is a pony, complete w/ holding ears as reins.

I thought about the eagle incident, because Bumpkins and I went sledding today. I must have walked about 9 city blocks. We did find some hills and she did enjoy herself, even though she lost her mittens and got cold. But anyway, she was walking and said birdie. There were 2 eagles up in the sky being chased by ravens. I kept close to Bumpkins after that.

The other pic. is of our cat Athena. The creature that should go to Hogwarts. She is so much more obedient then the dog. She comes when called and looks for the spider to eat. LOL

No knitting today or even sewing. Am upto Chap. 9 in the Sorceror's Stone. Did laundry and played xbox 360 w/DH. That was so nice. Went out for ice cream instead of going to church. Thing Two went to church, he got home around 915. Bumpkins is going to have a difficult adjusting to this new schedule. I gotta pump milk to go in a sippy cup- all the bottles leak really bad. I have to put up about 12 oz. for her and I haven't even started pumping. I am running out of time.

Today sunny temps. in the mid 20's slight wind. Beautiful blue sky. So nice to be out. Errands tomorrow will try to take her outside again. She needs the fresh air. If we were in Norway she would never be in.

What's in your Carport?

Here are the pics. These were taken last month but am just now posting, as they were in there again today. The straw is getting all over the place. This moose is the baby- yearling, mama is even bigger. The car is a Nissan pathfinder parked about 10 feet away from the critter.

I don't understand this blogger picture stuff. First you have to choose your pics. then do your blog. But make sure your pics are going in last one first otherwise they are out of order like mine.

Lot's of knitting this weekend. Last night I stayed up late knitting another 1 1/2 rows on the peach shawl one more row until a drop row. Finished the plastic bag bag. Pics of that very soon. Knitting group today- learned how to co using long tail method also now know how to knit in the round w/4 needles. That is so much fun. I made a finger puppet for Bumpkins, I now need to learn how to put wings and a beak on it. Went shopping at Jo-Annes, big sale. Bought 2 skeins of cha cha, one sable and the other a brown, 2 skeins of Bernat Baby softee and a pattern to sew a knitting tote.

Cleaned Thing Two's old room up a bit and did a fair amount of laundry. So much more to go.

Pretty sky tonight temp in the 20's. No northern lights yet though, solar flare activity must be down.

Dramatic Thursday

What did I knit today? I picked up the plastic bag to finish, started to sew the strap on didn't like the way it was going and took it apart. Will finish when? Before Saturday as I want to show it to the knitting group finished. I need to allocate my time better.

Princess liked her Valentine Box- she got it Tuesday. She didn't care much for the Cupid's poo. (Craftbits) Bumpkins is quite the daddy's girl. I almost couldn't get her to sleep, then when she was almost asleep she started screaming. Her leg hurt- arnica rub and sweet dreams. That stuff is amazing. DH did laundry today, that was nice. Thing one decided that he didn't quite like DH's rules, and chose to live elsewhere. Thing Two now resides in Thing One's room. That drama would explain Bumpkins behavior tonight. Toddlers are very perceptive to changes in households. But now all doors have to be locked and windows latched. DH now has a music room- he is a happy camper about that. His room is almost as big as my craft room, but he doesn't have to share space w/a sink and fridge.. It would be nice to redo that room. In time.

I got the job- start next week. Crazy schedule- but we will cope. Through lots of prayer. Nice day again. Temp in the 30's. Up to tape 3 and chap. 6 or 7.

Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day. Did I knit? I think that I frogged. Oh I put the seam back in the tribble. It is now absolutely finished. Not sure of what to knit first for this Harry Potter KAL. I want to make a bag, that would help me not lose stuff. A Mrs. Phiggs bag- made out of natural fibers, can't see a squib using anything else. Thinking old jeans, oversized, sturdy. But also wouldn't fingerless gloves be good to, I was actually thinking something along the lines of an ice scraper glove. Because Hogwarts's classrooms are probably very cold. Especially Potions. You would want your hands warm- but still have use of your finger tips. Maybe wrist warmers. Back to the ice scraper, your hand is covered but there is a hole that allows the ice scraper/ or even a wand to slide in.

Busy day. Had an interview at 11 am. then had to be back at home by 12. When I got here discovered that Bumpkins had thrown up all over the place and was unable to tell her dad that she didn't feel good. Before the interview, I made cinnamon choc. chip scones very good. And fudge- I need that cookbook. The recipe that I did was terrible. Maybe I didn't beat it enough, it is still sludge and has lumps. Very yucky. After nap, I had to go to work, so back out to the pool. Good news is I am now on Chapter 6 of Sorcerer's Stone. I just started listening yesterday. Then church tonight late night didn't get home until after 9:30. Then dishes and put Bumpkins to bed. Thankfully tomorrow is Thursday, no where to go until 2 ish. I got the job also. So that is going to make this place even crazier. Thankfully I have started implementing Flylady stuff. Just have to work it into routines.

I feel so bad that I have misplaced my bible, hopefully it will turn up soon.

Pictures Finally

Here are my works in progress. This Blog thing is stupid. My pics are everywhere.
The Brown ball of eyelash is the beginning of a bear/tribble finger puppet. It was cast on Saturday afternoon and finished that night. Knitted on 6 needles. Yarn unknown bought at the thrift store and unmarked.

The Pink is actually more peach, and that is being knitted on 10 cn and it is 1 set of Sarah Blanche shawl from Folk Shawls by Cheryl Oberle. The yarn is possibly wool- acquired from my mother's stash. Unknown make, the plus to using this yarn for this shawl is I won't have to learn how to add yarn. Wonder does this then qualify for one skein item?

This next one is the same pattern of the shawl, but in a scarf width, size 6 needles and double stranded. I started out w/a sample swatch and decided that I was going to make a scarf. This also is on a cone spun by unknown purchased on e-bay. This is actually a Navy Blue. It appears that I like my cones of yarn. Very economical and you never run out of yarn. Downside projects are definitely not portable.

Ok enough of the pics. more tomorrow. Last night I was bored so I joined two more knal. What on earth am I thinking. One after getting more info I probably won't do, not enough time. The other is a Harry Potter knal. That one is going to be fun. I already know what I am going to knit after I get the finger puppets done that is. A knit bag that Mrs. Phibbs might carry. I am kinda cheating as I'm listening to the books on tape instead of reading them. The commute is great now.

DH is off work for a week. Dr.s orders and has to go to physical therapy. The fall really messed him up bad.

The crockpot is my friend, another good dinner pork country ribs in a soy sauce, molasses sauce. Crud, I don't remember where I found the recipe and it is a keeper. Recipe is same place as short rib recipe from Sunday.

Long time no write

Well I figured out how to get color back on this blog. Now I just have to wait until DH can show me how to download pics.

Now onto knitting, I have several pics of works in progress. I decided that one a blog is BORING w/o pics. Kazul was right. And two I want to do monthly progress reports of my stuff. I was 2/3 of the way done w/the coif. But frogged it because of gauge was off. It was very pretty. I bought a set of dpns. and worked on the peach shawl. My theory worked. Yeah. I am almost done w/a complete set- 7 more to go. I bought a stitch holder and put the scarf on it. I cast on and finished a finger puppet, it was supposed to be a bear. But since I used eyelash yarn- DH calls it a tribble. I will finish a few more and post them altogether. There was a knitting group at the library on Sat. that was fun. I will go and learn something new each week. It is only 1 hr. but better than nothing. I am using my new 7 cn today and am going to practice knitting in the round. This beginner is bored w/ordinary stuff.

I didn't work or post on Thursday because DH fell on the ice at work and was transported to ER. I didn't go to work either. I was on my way when I got the call. He is ok, but very stiff and doped up.

Took Texas brownies out to the camp on Friday night. Need to jot the recipe down so I can give it to the youth pastor's familia. I also need to jot down the fudge recipe and make it. Homemade fudge is so much better than a box of pot of gold. Sent Princess her box today, she isn't answering her phone and she isn't online either. I hope that she is ok.

nice today, temp in the 30's sunny.

Work week over Yeeha!!!

Knitting today. Did some, not on any shawls as I be bored w/them. But started a new project for me for Christmas. I am making the coif from knitty. I am 1/3 the way through it, it seems big. Had a rough start on it, broke the yarn while trying to do a m1. Found an awesome website - oh no I didn't bookmark it. Hope I don't have to frog the hat. It is sized for an adult med. I am an adult petite. Have many incentives to have it done by Saturday. That is when the knitting group at the library is. I am going to take it in and the bloody calamari bag. I am so going to finish that.

Started to go to work today, But got a phone call that informed that DH was transported to the hospital. Had to cancel lessons make up is next Friday. boo hoo. DH can take Bumpkins during that time. Maybe swim w/her. She'd like that. DH is fine, he fell on the ice and knocked himself out. Doc gave him vicoden and percosides, he will be feeling no pain.

It snowed yesterday, and that is why it is so slick out. temps in the 20's again. Here it is midnight again and so off to bed. NO More knitting for me today.

Wednesday, February 7, 2007

1/2 way through the work week

I did do some knitting today. But frogged it after I did 2 inches ( couldn't remember if I was purling or knitting) I was only doing 2 stitches- I was also using my 6 needles that still have the scarf on them. So that was my knitting today. Last night's ephiphany site was actually from crazy aunt purl. I don't even know how I got there. I will figure out this link thing eventually. but not tonight.

Work- have mixed emotions and thoughts for there. Need to meditate for awhile. Hmmm.. that takes us back upto the previos paragraph. KNITTING!!!! That is what I need. But I need sleep more.

Church- Bible Study. I look forward to Wednesday nights not only to learn about the Bible but also because Theresa and what's his face cook dinner for me. My one night of being pampered.

Bumpkins is having a hard time transitioning at daycare. She will adjust- took out the breast bottle. Glad that I still have it, hope it helps for naps and bedtimes.

I still need to do someting for my secrud sis.

Another work week started

No knitting for me today. Did do some surfing though- not sure which hat I will do. Found this really pretty hooded scarf over at http://www.highcountryknitwear.com/carollershoodedscarf.shtml . I am just learning how this html stuff works. Also found coif at knitty http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTcoif.html . Not sure which would go with my velvet cape better though. If I did the coif I could also make a muff. I have 2 skeins of chenille to use for this project. Visited the yarn harlot blog today. Was it hers or someone else's? Anyway her epiphany became mine. Everyone is different, we all use different fibers and create different stuff. We also knit at our own speed. And yes knitting is cheaper than therapy, and a great stress reliever. I really need to buy some stitch holders, that and some dpn will be this months purchase as I need to support my fabric habit also.

DH's schedule is hard on everyone. Bumpkins has to be at daycare until 630 and then home for 30 min. of loving. I couldn't even eat dinner- she was so distraught. Tomorrow is an even longer day what w/church.

I did very little of routines today. Laundry, lunch, dinner and dishes that was all. Took Bumpkins to open gym that was fun (all 20 min), my rebate for my razr phone came in today.

At work made a little guy cry- oh well he'll learn to like going under the water. Just realized where most of my bruises come from- it is from the little guys grabbing me.

I made an awesome dinner one of my favs. Hamburger helper cheeseburger it is even better w/sour cream. Maybe that is why bumpkins is gaining weight- she will eat sour cream plain. She calls it is ice cream.

Temp today in the 20's, perfect no jacket and sandals weather. Did wear warm socks though.

monday, Monday

Oh I got to knit today. I am so excited. I only got 1/5 set done but that is way better than nothing. The blue scarf is now 13 inches long. I also dug out my chenille to start my cap- but I really need my sixes. I looked for my stitch holder to put the scarf on but couldn't find it. So it looks like I need to finish the scarf asap. I want my hats and finger puppets. I have to find a portable project w/another set of needles.

Flylady would be proud, I put up a 3X5 card w/morning routine and did them all. Then I put up another card w/Monday routines, did that one too. Am considering writing up a bedtime one also.

Went to the store and forgot the main thing that I went in for. Of course it wasn't on a list. Ziploc bags.

The moose are making a mess in our carport, they are now knocking down the lumber. Thing one is going to find parking his car difficult.

Bumpkins said to me today "Potty please mom" so cute.

Well off to shut down the house then bed for me.

Weather today 5 degrees and foggy this am. warmed up to 15 by noon. I need mittens my fingers are so cold getting Bumpkins buckled in and getting myself in. Cars don't get warm if you don't turn the heat on.

Superbowl Sunday

Today is Sunday. Superbowl and Youth pastor appreciation day. No knitting today- wanted to but played video games w/DH instead. Did you know you cannot effectively watch TV and play games at the same time. Even w/2 TVs, so no commercials for me.

I spent most of my weekend w/my DH so no knitting. Saturday I did my zone cleaning and finished my HB. I just have to get the schedule down, esp w/me working.

Friday, cleaning and open gym day. Friday night Emmaus gathering- not so much fun. Should have stayed home and done family night.

Thing one pierced his ear w/a fork. Thing two needs prayers for his thoughts that females are less then. Princess needs to go to church.

I wish I could knit at night but not w/the blue. Bumpkins was so cute, I cleaned up her room and threw a bunch of stuff away. I forgot to remove the plastic garbage bag- she pulled a balloon out of it. When I saw her w/ the balloon I commented that it had been in the trash. She replied "my trash" and put the balloon behind her so I wouldn't take it away.

The work week is over for me

I am so glad that this week is over. Tuesday it starts all over again. Found out today that I still get unemployment- every bit helps. This weekend I shall start weaning Bumpkins. :( I don't want to but have to for work. Wish I could find something where I only work ams. that would be great. But then we would have extra hrs. in daycare. I went down the slide 2x by myself today- kept banging my elbow. I used to get more spins in, not now. I am also incredibly hungry.

Knitting today was a set on the blue scarf- I messed up a few rows, but it looks OK. So 5 sets done so many more to go. It isn't even as long as my forearm. Oh well just keep knitting. I need my 6s for Bumpkins bday gift. She really needs those finger puppets, will be perfect for church and other places that she needs to sit still for.

Bumpkins went back into a diaper for daycare- she had a poop and just wouldn't go. At home we would have just ran her to the bathroom every ten minutes. She must have went because she never said anything more about pooping here at home.

Cleaned up alot of paper clobber today. I was looking for Thing one's social card. Surprising that I didn't put it back after I used it. I was actually surprised that it only took me 45 min. to go through all the different piles. Tossed out alot of stuff. More surprising was that I knew where all the piles were. Finally found it in my purse in another envelope- go figure.

Wow I am tired, all this exercise and getting up early is getting to me. Have to keep an eye out for fido- she is out running.

It was 43 degrees on my way home, Nana said it was 49. This February in Alaska on the Kenai no less. Must be getting the pineapple express. Drives are icy, maybe I will take Bumpkins out sledding tomorrow. Have to listen to a weather update.
