Are they Scones or Biscuits?

Are they Scones or Biscuits?

Whatever they are still delish.

I needed a snack for Tot's morning snack.
Found a recipe for Lunchbox treats.
hmmmm.... looked interesting
but it was written in weights, Americans use cups.

So I searched and came up with some other recipes
to make a conversion possible.

Delightfully soft scones

  • 1/2 butter (100 g) butter softened
  • 1/3 c (75 g)  sugar
  • 1 Large egg, beaten
  • 1 Tsp vanilla
  • 2 C (225 g) white whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp of baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • good handful of golden raisins
  • 1/4 C (4 TBSP) milk
Preheat oven to 350 (175 C).
Cream together the Butter and sugar, add vanilla and beaten egg.  Sift together the flour, baking powder and cinnamon.  Stir into sugar mixture, it will be stiff.  Add raisins and milk.  Mix together gently.  Lightly knead.  roll out 1/4 inch (5 mm thick) and cut into 12 circles or separate into 12 balls and mash into appropriate thickness.  bake on cookie sheets or bread stone. ( i used a pampered chef round stone).
bake at 350 (175) for 12- 18 min.  use a toothpick to check for doneness.
