Knitting: still am knitting on DM's socks. But have
cast on something entirely for me!

(several more inches).

Trying to come up with another contest.

Knitting: have been knitting lots lately. finished a sock for DM, now to cast on another and finish before March 26th.
And now my total of finished items for this year is: 10. not to bad as we are in week 11 of the 2009. (for one of my finished items please check out Ravelry- it is an Easter Present).

Spring Break is finally over and it was crazy out at the pool. Wednesday i fell in while attempting a rescue (the person who i landed by thought i jumped though).

update on why i haven't been blogging, what with the hard drive crashing, then about the time i thought about blogging more the 1 G memory card for the camera went missing. we found it today, Bumpkins had stuffed it into the card slot sideways.

Mt. Redoubt has been steaming alot- will try to take camera tomorrow with us in the car for pictures. Last Sunday there was a minor eruption. but nothing since.

Dinner: made an inexpensive dinner with stir fry veggies and 1 round steak. fed us and was under $7.00 (that includes rice, veggies, soy sauce and steak).

we still are having negative temps in the am and the batteries in my remote start key fob are dead.

Sunday Quotes

"In the bleak midwinter
Frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron,
Water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow,
Snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter,
Long ago."
- Christina Rossetti, A Christmas Carol

above Pic: is Bumpkin's Fair Isle Scarf
knitted on US 7
With more Kool Aid Dyed yarn.
(it is also a key hole scarf).

DH got me loom for Christmas...
So I made this neckwarmer.

Finished scarf:
Basket Weave
60" long
knit w/US 10
Blue Wool Ease
(took forever as it was my portable knitting).

It has been super cold here. Temps running below -20 F. Planes have been grounded, unable to fly unless it is daytime. Last Wednesday it was -38 at 10:30 am. this Omega Bloc has been in place since before New Year's. People have frozen pipes and cars, thankfully we only had a frozen car. Tot hasn't been able to go outside much lately due to the extreme temps. Now I wish we had some hard apple cider- guess if you freeze hard apple cider you come up w/Apple Jack. Cider only freezes at extreme temps. The mountains have been beautiful, as we have had one sunny day after another. The full moon has been delightful to look at- unable to really enjoy it due to the cold. And the Northern Lights activity has been non existant, which is a bummer.

Today went for a walk the first one in over a month. Hugo loved it! As our temps finally got above 0 F. Not much else happening here except finally got our Christmas Box from Kazul. She sent it before Christmas from Eastern Oregon and it got here last Thursday. Reminds me of the good old days when all freight came up on a barge.

Knitting: Making Kazul a scarf for her Birthday... Mrs Whatsit's Neckerfuffle from the book Wrinkle in Time. Also have made one baby bootie.

And Jane is having a contest over on her blog first is What I did right in 2008. The other fun thing that she has going on is a 52 week challeng, of knitting 52 items in 52 weeks. Well I am going to modify that to making 52 items wether they be sewing, quilting or knitting. So far I am right on target as this is technically still the second week. (week ends on Thursday). And one items counts as 1 item ie.. my single baby bootie is item #1. not sure if UFO's count or not.

Kazul wants everyone to go vote for her snowman titled Kris and Steve's Snowman over on Today's Snowman.

well good night all. hopefully I am now out of hibernation.

Finished Objects!

Bumpkins plays guitar also.
I joined an online sewing group (Pattern review) and one of the contests is finishing UFOs. So I have been busy finishing up UFO's.
These bibs were cut out but not sewn together. Started 2 yrs. ago Daisy Kingdom pre-printed bibs that I backed w/flannel and serged the edges of most all of them.
More UFO busting: sewing project from 1 year ago. It was finished but I didn't like that it could only hang on the wall. I ripped the tabs off and re-sewed them on w/velcro and now it can be hung off of a changing table. Bumpkins is out of diapers now, so now I will try to put it in a safe spot for a baby shower gift.

Knitting: I have been busy knitting stars from the Elizabeth Zimmermann KAL. Tomorrow should be picking up Bumpkins tank top after I make one more star, trying to put beads on that one.

Specifics: Yellow star (non furry) yellow acrylic from stash knit w/ size 5 (US) needles. The furry is knit w/Fun Fur (can I say how much I dislike the stuff- it is impossible to frog!) and size 3 (US) needles.

What has been happening? Went to a wedding today- more on that tomorrow maybe. Saw a biologist and what the cat drug in was not a mouse but a baby muskrat. Kazul is moving- so sad.

Weather has been rainy. So once again no internet.
